Psalm 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and He binds up their wounds..."

The Lord never said that no trouble and tribulations will cross our paths.  In fact, Jesus prayed to Father God to not take us out of this world, but to give strength for us to get through it.

Jesus knew that life would not be easy.  Tragedies come our way, futures look uncertain, we lose loved ones, emotionally people hurts and sometimes we just feel like we don’t belong.

If you have a void or hurt in your heart, you can be assured that the Lord is with you. He will restore and heal you, and let you emerge whole on the other side.

My prayer for the week:  Father, thank you for being so good to us.  Thank you for always standing ready with the Band-Aid!  Lord, search and bind every broken heart..  Amen

Luke 18:1 "Always pray and never give up"

Today we live in a world that looks hopeless at the first glance.  There is so much sorrow and heart ache in the word at the moment and we dont always understand it.  The Lord says it is His honour to withhold reason and I accept that.  One thing that I am sure of is that we live in a time where people need God more than ever!

I want to say to you:  Do not grow wary or get tired, You be the light in this dark world.  Never lose Hope because Hope has a name, and that name is JESUS.  If the devil even peeks at you, send him straight to the feet of Jesus.  Keep the faith, because He has triumphed and knows the end of this story.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, please give me enough faith to keep my eyes on You in any situation and all circumstances.  Let Your light shine through me.  Amen

Best description of God!

Written by Isaac Wimberley

If there are words for Him then I don’t have them

You see my brain has not yet reached a point, Where it could form a thought, That could adequately describe the greatness of my God

And my lungs have not yet developed the ability, To release a breath with enough agility, To breathe out the greatness of His love

And my voice, my voice is so inhibited, Restrained by human limits, That it’s hard to even send a praise up

If there are words for Him then I don’t have them

My God

His grace is remarkable, Mercies are innumerable, Strength is impenetrable

He is honorable, accountable, and favorable, Unsearchable yet knowable, Indefinable yet approachable, Indescribable yet personal

He is beyond comprehension, Further than imagination, Constant through generations, King of every nation

But, If there are words for Him then I don’t have them

You see my words are few, And to try and capture the one TRUE God, Using my vocabulary will never do

But I use my words as an expression, An expression of worship to a Savior, A Savior who is both worthy and deserving of my praise

So I use words,  My heart extols the Lord,
Blesses His name forever, He has won my heart, captured my mind, And has bound them both together

He has defeated me in my rebellion, Conquered me in my sin, He has welcomed me into His presence, Completely invited me in

He has made Himself the object of my sight, Flooding me with mercies in the morning, Drowning me with grace in the night

But, If there are words for Him then I don’t have them

But what I do have…Is Good News, For my God knew that man-made words would never do
For words are just tools that we use, To point to the Truth
So He sent his son Jesus Christ as THE WORD…..Living proof

He is the image of the invisible God, The firstborn of all creation, For by Him all things were created, Giving nothingness formation

And by His word He sustains, in the power of His name, For He is before all things and over all things He reigns

Praise Him for His life, The way He persevered in strife, The humble Son of God becoming the perfect sacrifice

Praise Him for His death, That He willingly stood in our place, That He lovingly endured the grave, That He battled our enemy
And on the third day rose in victory

Praise Him because He rose!!  Hallelujah He rose!!  He is everything that was promised

Praise Him as the risen King, Lift your voice and sing,  For one day He will return for us and we will finally be
United with our Savior for eternity

So it’s not just words that I proclaim,  For my words point to the WORD,  And the WORD has a name,
Hope has a name
Joy as a name
Peace has a name
Love has a name
And that name is Jesus Christ
Praise His name FOREVER!

God's Truth

Hosea 4:6:  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…….”
Have you ever believed something someone said, just to find out later it is contradictory to God’s word?  There are many things we accept as the truth, but it is not God’s truth.  The best lesson I have ever learned is to believe what God’s word says, and not people.  The only way that we will be able to discern between people’s opinion and God’s truth, is to read the Bible.

For me it is the only way to get to know God, because the Bible is His autobiography and also an instruction manual for living life.

Don’t sell yourself short by believing everything you hear, they are still only people.  Search for the truth yourself, because it will set you free.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, forgive me for the many times I rather listened to people’s opinions.  Open my mind to what Your Spirit want to teach me from Your word..

You are Free!

We all know that nobody has a perfect life.  We have “ups & downs”, but the important thing is how we decide to react in a bad situation.

It is You that make that decision whether you are going to be unhappy and bitter when something bad happens.  Some people holds on to the past, and so much that it almost becomes an addiction.  That is not what God wants for us.

The devil only comes to steal.  Make a decision today, that no matter what happens, that you will find your happiness and hope in God.  When Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed.  It is your decision……

My prayer for the week:  Lord, thank you that Jesus set me free and that I can live a full life.(Even when I still make mistakes)  Thank you that I do not have to feel worthless, but that I can always live as a child of the King, a child of the One and only Living God. Amen

Psalm 1 v 1-3

Ps 1: 3  “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers”

Have you ever noticed when you drive in the country how easy it is to spot an area where there is a river.  Even when the growth in the field is dry and dull, the trees are still green.  You cannot see the river, but you know it is there.

We have to be rooted like that in God and His word, because that is our water.  Even when everything around you is dull, people must still notice that you are different.  Make sure you get enough water to keep your leaves green.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, You restore my soul and give me new strength every day.  Thank you for that. Amen

Are you tired of running?

Every day I see so many people “fighting” to put the perfect picture out there.  We put up walls around us and only show the “correct” picture in order to be accepted by the people in our lives.   We are so influenced by everything out there, and in such a way that we end up living other people’s dreams and we even compromise our values. We end up missing the life God gave us to live.  You cannot truly enjoy anything, because the life you are leading is a false one.

This is all a race towards nothing.  This is not what God had in mind for you.  Jesus loves you and know everything about you.  He knows who you are without all the “bells & whistles”.  He always loves you and nothing can separate you from His perfect Love.  Be bold and get rid of all those things that makes you so tired and empty.

My prayer for the week:  Jesus, I am so tired of all the “fakes” I am carrying with me.  Lord, please help me to throw away all those things and be the individual, who You created me to be.  Father, please let me stand strong for anyone who doesn’t like me for who I truly am.  May I never forget the I was firstly created for You and by You.   Amen

Be a blessing to others

Hi everyone,
We went on an outreach with our Church last week where we replaced peoples shacks with wooden Wendy houses.  What an experience!  Our group built a house for a Grandpa + ma of around their 80’s (if not older).

They were so grateful and Grandma explained to us that when it rains, the water runs ankle deep through the house.  She also tells us that her only pot for water got a hole in it, and with shame I think I have about 10 pots in our house and I never use them all at once. L

The two old ones sat the whole day looking at how their house were built and every time something is finished, Ouma jumps up, thanks God, and dances with joy.  When some inquisitive kids come to have a look, she chases them away!  When we started moving their belongings back into the house, I see that it is made up of 2 matrasses, a blanket, a cupboard, 2 chairs and a table without a surface.  There is no cutlery and just a tin kettle and black potjie.  The men quickly make a plan and in minutes het table has a working surface, again she pours over with joy.
How great was my own joy when someone brought them an old Sleeper couch, and I knew: tonight Oupa and Ouma will be sleeping next to each other!  When we leave Grandpa says to my husband:  May God bless you, and I think to myself:  God has already blessed us abundantly, we just need to start and share it with others……..

There is a bigger blessing in giving than receiving, but the day just showed me again how much we live in excess,  extravagance and even wasteful,  we are living.  I don’t think that is what God intended with His blessing

My prayer for the week:  Lord Jesus, thank you for blessing us in abundance every day.  Let me never forget that, that which I have is not out of self, but only by Your grace.  Amen

Trust God

Jeremiah 32:27  “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?”

I think in the times we live in, we get so overwhelmed with everything around us, that we forget to trust in God.  We share our problems and fears with other people, rather than going to God first.  Why try to fix things ourselves, and if we fail, God will be the last way out.  We forgot that our helps comes from the Lord, the creator of heaven and earth.  He want us to go to Him for help and to trust in Him.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, let me never forget that nothing is impossible for You.  Thank you that I can always trust You, and that I do not have to fear anything.  You are God, my God.  Amen

The lost will be found.......

Luke 15 : 1-7 tells us where Jesus explains that He will leave the 99 sheep behind to go and find the one that is lost.

I want to remind you today that if you got lost along the way or just never been found, the Lord will come and find you, just be willing to be found!

My prayer for the week: Lord, I thank you that You love us so much that you will come and seek us when we are lost. Thank you Jesus. Amen

April 29, 2013

I just want to remind you that no matter where you are, or what is happening or how hopeless your situation might look, God is still in control. Hold on to this promise.
My prayer for the week: Lord, please bring a calmness over each one that need is, so that they will know that You love them and that You are still in control. Amen

Jesus is Alive!

The Easter celebrations are one of the most important celebrations on the calendar. Jesus came and died for every single person on this earth. He took every sin on Him and because of what He did, we can accept the gift of life and to become new creations in Christ. He has conquered death and because of Grace, we as the gentiles are not living under the law anymore!
If you have Jesus, you have Love, and if you have Love, it will cover many sins. The day you accept Jesus with your whole, heart, mind and soul, you will never be the same. That old sinful person dies with Jesus on the cross and just like God resurrected Jesus, that same Spirit of God come and makes you a new creations! Lets ensure that we bring glory to God in everything we do.
My prayer for the week: Father God, thank You, that You sent Your Jesus for each one of us, so that we do not have to be lost. God, thank you for loving us, each one of us. Lord, I pray that everyone that that has not accepted You yet, will know that the price has already been paid and that they can accept Your gift. I ask it in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Stick and Stones........

I am sure we have all heard these words: “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”

The reality is that words hurt us the most and causes the most damage. With the same tongue we praise the Lord, we also criticise His creations.

You can change someone’s life by saying one bad or good word. All of us have been exposed to a negative comment at one stage or the other, and we also know how hurtful it can be.

I challenge you to think real good before you speak, because you might be the cause of someone’s heartache and nobody deserves it. Remember that we will all be held accountable for everything we say and do.

My prayer for the week: Father God, I pray the I will never do anything to other people that I don’t want done to myself. Please take control of my tongue so that it can be ointment to a wound rather than acid. Amen

Do you want more?

I listened to a song the other day and these words stuck with me:  “Strip everything away, 'Til all I have is You........ Undo the veils So all I see is You.”

I sat for a long time thinking of the deeper meaning.  We long for a more intimate relationship with the Lord, but are we really willing to give everything up to gain Him?  Are we willing to have the veils removed and to only see truth.  Are you willing to say to God:  Take everything away, You will be my enough.

We add so much value to our earthly belongings, and the truth is that we cannot take it with and we are only looking after it.  Everything belongs to the Lord and He decides who he entrust with it.  You might think it is your own hard work for everything you have, but it is Grace alone.

We are so scared of going without our “things”, the we lose the most precious item...and that is Jesus and a fulfilling relationship with a Loving heavenly Father.

Are you willing to lose everything in order to find your God and are you ready for a truth that will set you free?

My prayer for the week:  Jesus, most beautiful name.....please remove anything from me that is a hindrance in my relationship with you.  Amen

God is able

1 Cor 2:9 “But as it is written: “What the eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

When I read this verse, I just realised again that people should not limit God. In this life and the eternal, He has prepared such wonderful things beyond our imagination. This was such a truth when the Lord gave us a swimming pool last year, absolutely free! It was something we did not think or dream of, and despite that it is valued over R60K, He still chose to give it to us.

Make this year, your year of thinking big of God’s abilities. Expect extraordinary things and believe the He can do it for you. (not only the material things, but also emotional and spiritual)

My prayer for the week: God, may I never limit You again just because I cannot understand it mentally. Thank you Father for that what You have prepared for me. you are worthy to be praised because Your are always good. Amen

My Grace is enough for you.

Hi everyone!  May this year be filled with Jesus’ love and peace in such a way that it exceeds all expectation.

I think that sometime we complicate our relationships with God and we miss the mark completely.  We get busy with things of the Lord, we follow rituals and traditions.  If we stumble, the devil condemns us so much that we are scared to go to God.  We live under the law and think we have to win God’s favour with things we do.

But the Lord says to us:  His grace is enough for us.  He already loves us, He has loved you from before you were born.  He loves you irrespective of your past or your current wrong-doings.  Make Him the King of your life and know the He is your enough.  Celebrate His goodness this year!

My prayer for the week:  Lord, Your are enough for me.  I pray that everyone will grow in their relationship with You this year, and the they will re-discover You and Love You.  I praise you Lord, because there are truly no one like You..   Amen

December 11, 2012

Can you believe that we are in December and so close to Christmas? This year has really flown and it is downhill to 31 December! I am sending my message early this year, because I am not sure who is going on holiday early this year.
For everyone that is going on holiday, enjoy every moment and travel safely. For those who are working or just staying at home, make the best of it. Treasure every moment you have with family and friends. Enjoy this special time of the year when we celebrate Jesus’s birthday.
For every person that reads this message I would like to say: Hold on to Jesus, He is the biggest truth you will ever know and He loves you very much. Remember that God is always with you, no matter what the situation. He is your God.....
My prayer for the week and month: Father God, You are the Great “I am” and Maker of all things. Thank you Lord that we can celebrate our Saviour’s birth this month. Father I pray that we will never forget what Jesus did for use. I know this is a time filled with gifts, but we wil not forget Your biggest gift to us. Thank you, thank you and thank you! Amen.

What does God want?

God is longing for an intimate relationship with you. It is all about whether you are serving Him with a pure heart. It is not about which church you go to, how many laws of the bible you keep or which traditions you follow.

You see, you can do all these things, but if you do not have a personal relationship with Him and did not accept Jesus as your saviour, it would not mean much. You can’t win God’s favour by doing things, it is by His grace and His Son as gift.

In your relationship with Him, you will show your love to God by also doing what His word asks. The more time you spend with Him and His word, the better you will understand His heart. If you are looking for Him, you WILL find Him. The love we receive from Him, has to be shared with everyone. Make sure that everything you do, brings glory to Him.

My prayer for the week: Lord, the only thing I can boast over, is Your grace and love for me. Lord, thank you for healing broken people. You are truly my God, the One I trust. Amen

Prov 17:5 “He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker.......”

Have you ever looked down at “poor” people? You might see someone and criticise their appearance. For some reason society thinks a person is less intelligent just because of the area they live in or the type of work they do. Some people think they have a sense of entitlement just because they have money, and then they can’t even speak with respect to the petrol attendant.

I want to tell you today, we have nothing out of ourselves. Everything you have, is what God gave you. The place you find yourself at the moment, is because of the opportunities God gave you. Not one person on this earth is better than the other, God created All of us. Don’t criticise someone’s old clothing, it might just be their best. Don’t criticise the women’s dry hair, maybe she used her conditioner to buy bread for the week. Be slow to comment on the man that does not smell good, maybe he doesn’t have money for that luxury. The clothes of children you see might be the best of the “hand-me-downs” that they have. If you barely have money for food, luxuries like deodorant is the last thing on your shopping list.

Remember that nobody had the choice of skin colour, what IQ, which family you were born into or even what you looked like on the outside. It is God that planned your life and destiny. Do not mock or criticise God’s creations. You have what you have and are what you are through God’s grace. Nobody chooses to be poor............

My prayer for the week: Lord, please forgive me for every time I criticised your creations or when I looked down at people that did not have the same opportunities that I did. Jesus, I thank you for everything I have, because I know it is all a gift from You. Amen

Rev 3:11 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

If you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, He has given you the crown of life. This is a gift you have to treasure and look after until the end, because you might lose it along the way.

Be wary that the things that cross your road, don’t pull you down, or draw you away from God. He has to be the centre of your whole existence in order for you to have a balanced life with rest and peace.

If you have not reached this point, just remember: your crown is ready, you just need to accept it. And if you have received you crown, don’t let something or someone steal your crown of life.

My prayer for the week: Father, may I have the strength to hold on to my crown every step of the way. May I always be aware that I should put Your 1st, rather than pleasing people. Amen

The Christian Ateist

I saw a Video Clip a while ago titled: The Christian Atheist.

In the Clip the person is paging through the Bible, scratching out certain verses with a black marker.  The message behind this is that we cannot selectively believe certain parts of the bible.  We need to believe everything or nothing.  The way they portray the message is brilliant, because how many times do we hold on to the part that really makes sense to us and ignore the rest just because we were not brought up with it.   Or we read the parts that make us feel “good” and avoid the parts where we are taught right and wrong.

I have already decided a while back that I am going to believe Everything in God’s word.  Just because I don’t understand something or not use to it, does not mean it’s impossible or untrue.  I also don’t want to trouble Holy Spirit through unbelief and trust that every word in the Bible is God inspired.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, thank you that I have Your word as my guideline for life.  Father, please help me to understand and believe everything in the bible, and not to be in doubt just because I have never been taught about it.  Amen

Be true to yourself & God

I read this piece in a book from Solly Ozrovech, and it really had me thinking:

Be true to God

Ps 139:23-24  “Search me o God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my anxieties;  and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

There are some people that are very religious, but their way of living does not reflect the example Jesus set for us.  They talk in an intimate way of God and still have an unforgiving spirit towards others.  They ignore the truth that God cannot forgive their sins, until they forgive others.  They confess that they talk to God, but cannot speak to others in a loving and respectful manner.

The fact is that such a person can trick other people for a long time, but they cannot fool God.  He knows their thoughts and emotions and knows that they live an unfulfilled life.

Still God never stops loving them.

The tragedy of “counterfeit” Christians is that they miss the peace and joy of a life of fullness that Jesus Christ holds.  If people are not truthful and whole heartedly committed to God,  their faith will always be of poor quality.  God expects us to be real with Him....”
Search within yourself, and see what God will find.....
My prayer for the week:  Father, I have so many faults, please lead me on the right way.  Let nothing take me from Your hand  Amen

John 3:30 - “He must increase, I must decrease"

Sometimes we don’t grow in our relationship with the Lord because we don’t have time for Him in our daily life.  We keep ourselves so busy with other things and we place Him on the back burner until that moment we really need Him.

We need to realise that Jesus is not there to play a part in our lives, but that it is everyone that plays a part in His script and He is the main character.  Jesus should not just be a part of your life, He should be your life.

My prayer for the week:  Lord, I am sorry that I only make You a role player in my life sometimes.  Lord I ask that I will learn how to put you 1st.....always.  Father, I ask that everything that steals my time with you will be removed, and that You fill those gaps with more of You.  I pray for balance in my life.  Amen

Exodus 14:14 “Keep calm, the Lord will fight for you.”

So many times people don’t do right to you, or cause you damage. Sometime people withhold something from you or someone might hurt you. It is in our nature to fight back and you also want to hurt that person. It is in these situation when the Lord ask that we sit back, because He will fight for us.

The Lord also teaches us in His word that it is His honour to do this and we should not take that away from Him. I know that sometimes it is easier said than done, but try it and you will not be ashamed.

The Lord will jump in at His perfect time.

My prayer for the week: Jesus, sometimes it is so hard not to hurt back when I am hurt. Father, I pray that I will have the ability to stand back, and let You fight for me. I thank you that You are willing to do this for me. Amen

Help is on the way

Isaiah 41:13 “For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.”

In the past few weeks I had to do with many people that are down in the dumps. It is like they cannot see a way out and the future seem dark.

This verse in Isaiah is another one of God’s perfect promises.   The wonderful thing is that if we give everything to Him, He can perform miracles.

Maybe you back-slided into sin, or made some bad decisions.   Maybe things are getting to much for you at work, or people walk all over you.   The good news is that you have a God that wants to help you.   You just need to call onto Him and trust Him.   Don’t be scared, He will help you.

My prayer for the week:   Thank you Lord, that we can run to You for help.   Father, I ask that you take every hand that needs You, and that Your strength will drive away any fear from their hearts. I thank You that you will never forsake us.   Amen

Retirement Plan

Every human starts their walk with the Lord the day they take their first breath. Every person’s journey is different and some have it easier, or so it seems from the outside. The reality is that we cannot live without God and God meets with us at some point in our lives. It is during that encounter we reach a cross road and we have to make a decision.
It is here where we decide which “Eternal retirement” plan to take out. This life is gone in a wink of an eye, compared to eternity. When we are young, we don’t know what the future holds and things are uncertain. God gives as an easy choice on where we want to move to on the day we leave this life. This perfect plan from God is totally free, because Jesus has already paid it in full.
I challenge you.....think about your “Eternal retirement” plan and what it consists of?
My prayer for the week: Father, I pray for every soul that reads this message, and I ask that you will work in every heart. Lord, I pray that we will stop believing satan’s “sugar coated” lies. Father, please open our eyes and soften our heart of rock. Lord, I choose You and I want to spend my eternity with You, where there is no pain and sickness. Yes Jesus, I choose You! Amen

Are you on Track?

‘’ A Train on the track is powerful, but a train next to the track is worthless.”

This must be one of the biggest truths I have ever heard. When I (train) live close to God (rail), I can do anything. He gives me new strength every day. Sometimes we derail so quickly and it is not always that easy to get back on track.

Have you derailed? Don’t worry, there are Hands that is big enough to put you back on the Rail. With Him we are worthy, but without Him..... we are nothing.

My prayer for the week: Jesus, I thank you that I can follow Your track daily and that I can depend on You. Father, I ask the I don’t derail, no matter how difficult the circumstances. Amen
