I have seen so many broken people the past few weeks. Everyone has been hurt some or other time in their life, and nobody is spared from life’s tribulations. I don’t know why bad things happen to good people and children. There are so many unanswered questions and the walk of life does not always make sense.

The one thing I know for certain is that if you have Jesus in your life, life is so much easier to accept. There was a time in my own life where I was living in fear, I was rebellious in situations that did not make sense to me. I had many questions and my circumstance and situation seemed desperate and without hope.

All of this changed when I made Jesus the King of my life. God brought healing and peace that is mind boggling. I still have obstacles in my life, but the Creator of Heaven and earth is my Helper.

I want to say to you, if you feel that you have reached the end of the road, the Almighty God wants to rescue you. It is the Lord’s will that everyone be saved and that none of His children be lost.

My prayer for the week: Heavenly Father, I praise you because your goodness is never ending. Lord Jesus, I pray that you heal all the broken people and that you will show them that LOVE has called their name, and that they will never be the same. Amen

Favour & Blessings

Good day,

We bought a house in January. Amongst the “Nice to have” list, was a swimming pool. Because we have disabled children, this is the only place they can move around freely without getting hurt and it is also good exercise for them.

We ended up not getting everything we wanted and were busy making plans of our own to install a swimming pool later. We decided on a different shape pool to save some money as the shape we really like was much more expensive.  A chain of events prevented us from installing the pool immediately and we did not have enough money for the pool. But our God works in mysterious ways!

Someone from work heard that we needed a pool and to make a long story short, God provided us with a lovely Spa Pool, with solar heating and sandstone paving, absolutely free!

You see, when God gives, there is no limits. He says in His word that before we ask, He answers our prayers. To our surprise, the Pool company installed the exact pool we wanted initially, (the one we could not afford).  God has a sense of humour, I must say!

We planned for the most basic and cheap pool, but my Father who is the King of kings had the best for us in store.

My God lives, and I pray that He will become a reality for you too.

May you be blessed!

Negativity

Are you someone that is always negative? You find fault with everything and expect the worst every time. You are so focussed on the negatives, that you end up missing all the positives! You end up making yourself so unhappy and sometimes it is things you don’t even have control over. Maybe you are just holding on to things that happened in the past and can’t let go.

There was a time in my life when I was negative and complaining all the time. It was like I was feeding on this and if someone listened, I was ready to complain. Then someone said an honest thing to my one day. Initially my feelings was a bit hurt, but today I realise it is the best advice I have ever received.

Stop complaining and get over it! You are draining people around you if you are negative and complain the whole time. Sit back and be honest with yourself. Do you make a decision daily to be positive, or are you just waiting for the next disaster to happen? Do you complain so much that people don’t even want to ask you how you’re doing or are you overshadowing other peoples positive spirit?

The good news is the it is Your decision how you are going to react. You can take back control and declare that from now on you are choosing to be positive and thankful for what you have.

My prayer for the week is:      Lord, today I choose to cut the negative out of my life. Today I choose to be a positive person and I thank You for everything you have entrusted to me. Jesus, I pray that Your light will shine from me, for everyone to see. Amen

Anger

Do you struggle with anger?  I am not talking about getting cross once in 5 years, I am talking about a regular frustrating anger within you.  The smallest incident will result in anger. You say and do things you regret later on, and then you don’t know how to fix the wrong you did.  It is almost as if you are waiting for something to happen to release that anger.  For instance, your child breaks a cup and then you take out all the anger on the child.  Afterwards you wonder why you lost it.

The reality is that you need to find the root of you anger and make peace with it.  Until you do that, that anger is going to cling to you like a parasite.  Maybe you were abused as a child, or you made some decisions that had dramatic consequences.  Maybe you lost someone or maybe your circumstances are not nice.  You need to get healing in that area.  You need to do it for yourself and for those around you!.

If you are not sure where that root lies, ask the Lord to show it to you.  Take that root and remove it from your life.  You need to forgive and declare that it will not influence your life further.  If it is bad circumstances, make a conscious decision to be positive and to accept it.  Remember, you can do it because God will help you!

My prayer for the week: Lord, today I pray for myself and everyone reading this.  Father I ask for a soft & calm spirit and I ask that you show me where the root of my anger lies. Lord, I do not want to be this time bomb anymore and need You.  Father, I pray that you will bring it into the light and that you will help me to forgive and to start fresh. Amen & Amen

God is your enough

I think that all of us has reached a crossroad at one point in our lifes.  Things are crazy and it feels like we don't know where we are going and if we are still on the right road.

Maybe you are at a place where you are not sure if you can turn back or you feel you are not going to get trough something.  Maybe you made some bad choices and Pride is withholding you from fixing it.

I want to say to you today:  God's grace is enough for you.  Don't worry what people will think of you.  Just take God's hand again en He will help you.

My prayer for the week is:  God, You look deep into our hearts, and You know who needs You so desperately right now.  Jesus I ask that You overwhelm them with Your love and give them peace in their hearts. Amen

Children of the Allmighty

We have disabled children and we are very grateful for them.. People don't always understand it, but we are truly blessed and would not have it any other way. We are grateful for everything they can do, especially if they get something right that other people see only as normal.

I want to ask you, how do you treat your children? Do you let your child's light shine, or do you cover that light with dark word from your mouth? Think back to your own childhood, and see how hurtful words can be. Sometimes you were not even given the chance to tell you little story. I am not saying the children must take over and rule the household. No, I am just saying acknowledge that your children are worthy and wanted. Let your children know that they are important to you and that each of them have a special place in the home and family. But most important, always let them know that they are loved.

We cannot talk our kids DOWN the whole time. We say things like: "you are so lazy, you are never going to achieve anything, you drive me crazy, I should never have had children". Wow, where are our children gonna end up if this is what they hear the whole time?

Let's raise our children as God's children, with a good self image. Children of the King! Assure them that it is OK to make mistakes.

Don't forget they are a gift from God, no matter how old they are. He wants to bless you through them and He chose you especially for them. What are you going to do with it?

My prayer for the week is: God I praise you for our beautiful children that gives us so much pleasure, what a blessing......Amen

So many times when things go wrong in our lives, we as Why God?

We actually need to question the devil, because it is he who causes pain and chaos in our lives. God only plans good for us.

We can also take a look at ourselves because we are so blind for our own faults. We keep ourselves busy with the wrong stuff and don’t have time for God. If things don’t go according to our plan, we end up questioning God and even blame Him.

Be still and honest with yourself, before you look elsewhere.

My prayer for the week: Jesus, please show me where I am blind for my own faults. Lord I pray that You will forgive me for all the times I blamed You, when it was in fact the devil that came to steal my joy. Amen

Forgiven Sin

PS 103:12 As far as the East is from the West, that is how far He removes our transgressions from us.

What a beautiful promise from our Lord. The day you give your life to Jesus, you are forgiven for everything. Not just some of the sin, everything. He removes that sin and does not think about it again. We do not have to stand ashamed before Him, He will wash you clean.....now that is peace and freedom!

Let’s not focus on the past and especially the bad decisions and actions. Rather enjoy your new life in the glory and fullness of Jesus. If you make a mistake again, run to Father God and confide in Him. He already knows everything we have done, He only wants us to come to Him and apologise. Do not let sin keep you from God, you will miss so much if you wait to talk to Him.

My prayer for the week: Father, I pray that condemnation from the enemy will not keep me from you. Lord, I pray that I will always be able to run to You when I sin. Thank you God, for your promise that nothing can separate me from Your love and that You will always accept me with open arms. Amen

Jesus loves you.......unconditional.

Spiritual & Emotional Amputations

My brother in-law had very bad health for over a year and it eventually resulted in an amputation last week. Just before the operation he basically had a crushed spirit and when we went to see him on Friday night, he was a whole different person. With the “problem” removed, he felt better physically and emotionally. In short: He feels like living again.

It made me think about our walk with God. What do you have in your life that makes you “spiritually sick” and keeps you from growing? Where do you give the devil an open door to come and steel your happiness?

Is it your TV, foul language, bad jokes, alcohol, work, friends, pornography, an unforgiving heart, hate, pride or ungodly thoughts? What do you need to amputate in order to live a full life and grow in God?

My prayer for the week is: Jesus, I pray that you show me what I need to amputate in my life. Lord, please forgive me that I allow “things” to steal my time with You. Father, I pray that I cut away all things that pulls me down and that you fill me with more of You. Amen

Love and blessings for the week.

Knowing God

Have you ever wondered how it is that some people know God so well, and for others, He feels so far away?

Ps 32:8 - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

I have realised how important it is to spend time in God’s word. That is where we get to know Him and His character, and where He teaches & guides us how to live our lives. We must believe everything in the word of God. The words in the bible is not just applicable to a generation that lived 2000 years ago. God cannot change and is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. For this reason His word is as powerful today as the day He first spoke them.

We have to equip ourselves and take initiative to seek God and to know Him better. Equip yourself with things like: going to church, bible study, books, DVD’s or whatever your need is. God is faithful: seek, and you will find Him.

My prayer for the week is: Jesus, I pray that anyone who seeks you, will find You. Lord, I ask that those who has a need to know You, will equip and surround themselves with all that is good. I also ask that any plans the enemy has to destroy our relationship with You, will not be carried out and that our faith will remain strong. Amen

Gifts

Someone close to me has this moto: “Your life is a Gift from God, what you do with that life, is your gift back to God.”

This is put so nicely and really got me thinking. For a long time in my own life, God was not number one. I did not honour the Lord with my lifestyle and the way I lived was not a gift at all. Today, I cannot thank God enough. He had so much grace for me and he gave me a chance to get my life together. The love and peace that He gave me, exceeds any gift I have ever received.

I still make mistakes, but will definitely think what gift I am busy giving back to Him.

My prayer for this week: Jesus, I pray that I will bring honour to Your name in everything that I do. I thank you, that You have the same grace and love for all your children and that it is available to all of us. I thank You for my life and ask for strength to give it fully back to You. Amen

We all hurt some time in our lifetime. People disappoint us or hurt us. Some people come into our lives and some are taken out. I don’t always understand some of the things that happen and probably never will. I found the following verses from Psalms:

Ps. 34:19. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Ps. 147:3. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

If you are going through a difficult time, I want to assure you the Lord is there for you. He cares for you, wants to bind your wounds, heal you and comfort you. Only He can do that for you.

My prayer for the week is: Lord, I thank you, that You have the ability to heal ‘broken’ people. God, I pray that You will meet each person that needs you desperately at this stage of their lives. Jesus, I pray that you touch their souls and heal their emotional wounds. Thank you Abba Father for being so good. Amen

God repairs!

Have you ever seen a water damaged wall? In order to make it new, you have to scrape and sand it down, Pollyfilla it and then paint. It is hard work, but afterwards, it looks as good as new!

I realised that it is exactly what God does with us. He takes us as we are, but He does not leave us that way. He scrapes all our “bad” away and fills us with Him and His Spirit. He “paints” us with Jesus and makes us a new creation. Just as we cannot see how bad those walls looked anymore, God does not see the “bad” He has repaired and forgiven us for. And the moment a crack starts showing, He is ready with His love and grace to sand us down and to apply His “Holyfilla”.

My prayer for the week is: I thank You for transforming me every day and that You equip me with Your power. Thanks for Loving us, unconditionally. Amen.

Jehovah Jireh: The Lord my Provider

I once wrote a message about: Taste, and see that the Lord is good. I experience this very often, but received in abundance recently. I praise God for His goodness, because it just never ends!

I also realised that if God gives you something special, do not object. Sit back, thank Him and enjoy it.

I see every day that we serve a God of wonders en He is certainly alive! Nothing is too wonderful for Him to do.

My prayer for the week is: Lord, thank you that You are so good to us and that You want to do good to us. Thank you for being our Provider. I pray that You will spoil everyone reading this mail this week. Amen.

Jesus is coming.....

How would you live your life or what will you change if you knew Jesus was coming next week?

If I must be honest, I will be more disciplined, try extra hard not to sin, spend more time in prayer and in God’s word. I will reach out with love and tell people about a wonderful Jesus and I will prepare to meet Him.

But why am I not living like this every day? Why is it so difficult for me? I think it is too easy to use the excuse: I am only human and nobody is perfect. God assures us that everything is possible with Him giving us the strength. Let’s stop worrying about what people will think of us and start focusing on what God will think of us. I might not be perfect, but I am sure going to try and come close to it.

My prayer for this week is: Lord, I pray for Your strength today. I pray that I will live my life according to Your word, so that You can be proud of me. Yes, just for Your strength. Amen.

Believe like a child

A Boy sat in class completing his Math test:
2+10 = Jesus
10+2 = Jesus.......
The teacher called him and asked why he answered everything: "Jesus"?
He responded: "Sir, We went to church on Sunday, and the pastor said: Jesus is the answer to everything!

You know, we must always believe like children and trust Jesus with everything!

My prayer for the week is: Lord, I ask that my faith will grow so that I believe like a child, without doubts, no questions, unconditionally. Amen.

I am sure we have all wondered at some point what our purpose in life is? All that I know for certain is that we are here to Love God, our Creator.

Maybe the plan for your life is big, or it might be small. We are like ingredients in God’s bread recipe. Maybe you are the flour, or the oil, or the salt or maybe just the yeast. If you are the yeast, you probably don’t ‘look’ like much on your own, you don’t taste like anything and you might feel you can’t do much amongst all that flour that’s been in that bowl before you. The fact of the matter is that the flour cannot rise to its full potential without you.

Not one of us are more or less important. God made you specifically for his final perfect product. We need to be patient and wait for God to use us when He’s time is right. The Lord might use you weekly or maybe just once in a lifetime. Never forget that the bread cannot go into the oven without the yeast, and without the yeast doing its job.

My prayer this week is: Lord, I thank you that you do not have favourites and the we are all equal in Your eyes. Lord, teach me to first of all Love you and then to wait patiently in my ‘yeast package’ until the day You are ready to throw me into that big bowl of flour where I can rise for You. Amen

God is faithful

2 Tim 2:13 “If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful”

During the past month the words were such an absolute truth. So many times I am not faithful to God. So many times I put other things before time with God. We, as people, can leave the narrow path so easily. We disappoint God sometimes, but He always remains faithful.

God is so good, because no matter what you do, you can always return to Him. Do not let your sin, keep you away from God. Repent and ask for forgiveness, He is waiting for you. Life in true Freedom!

My prayer for the week is: Father, thank you that your are always close and always faithful. I thank you that you don’t think of my sin once it is forgiven. I thank you God that I can be free, and that I don’t have to live in bondage. Amen

God's timing is always Perfect!

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecc 3:1

We have all reached a point where we want something and we want it quick. We don’t always understand why something takes so long, because sometimes we get the answer so quickly. We think that the Lord might have forgotten, or we think His answer is No, just because the answer takes long (according to our own standards).

Someone once said: “God’s response might be slow sometimes, but He is never late!”

This is so true, because God always knows best. He is the only one who knows what the future holds. We are His children and He wants what’s best for us. I have not waited upon the Lord so many times in the past. I would go ahead and make my own little plans and it would always backfire. I have learnt the hard way.

Remember, be still and wait on God. He’s timing is always perfect. If you don’t get an answer immediately, God most probably has a better plan that you have not yet thought about.................

Jesus love and blessings for the week.

Pastor Bill Wilson said: If you are going to live forever, who are you living for?

Have you ever thought in depth about this? Everything in this world will come to an end one day. What are you going to look back at? We must check that our priorities are right, to ensure the we do not stand ashamed before our Maker one day. Do you have balance in your life? God says that we must put Him 1st and the rest will be added for us. Let’s get real with ourselves......

Are you only living for your children?
Are you only living for yourself?
Are you only living for parties?
Are you only living for sport?
Are you only living for work?
Are you only living to make more money?

Or are you living for the Only Living God, who will be you “more than enough” in this world and eternity?

My prayer for this week: Dear God, please help me to bring balance in my life. Teach me to always put You 1st in order for You to carry out Your promise. I thank You that you care for us. Amen

Choose to stay positive

Have you ever wondered why things are just going the right way for some people. From the outside it looks like some people has the perfect life.

We are jealous of what that person portrays, but truth is that that person also has problems. They are probably also longing for the perfect life.

Do not be fooled, we all have problems. God’s word says that the road will be bumpy. Even as I write these weekly messages, I am not spared of heartships & disappointments. But I choose how I am going to react in a situation. Am I going to allow the devil to crush me and question God, or am I going to react positive, trust God and believe that He is going to turn the situation around and let it work for my good.

Don’t miss what God has for you now, by focusing on someone else’s life.

My prayer for this week is: Lord, I choose to stay positive and for darkness not to overwhelm my light. God, I pray that I will never take my eyes off my final destination. Thank you that I do not have to take this journey alone. Amen

Respect God

The other day I read the following in the bible: God says: “I am not a man, I am God, I am Holy”

So many times I hear people talk about the ‘old man upstairs” or just how there is a lack of respect in the way people talk about or to God. You know, I realise that God is our Heavenly Farther and that He will always accept us with open arms, but we should never forget the He is still God, and that He is Holy.

Will you ever go to your CEO and say: listen here old man, you know things are getting expensive and you must give me an increase, please sort it out. No, we respect his position and we treat him with respect. Let’s be wary not to respect people more than we respect God, our Creator.

My prayer for the week is: God, please forgive me for loosing perspective sometimes. You ask of us to be holy, because Your are Holy. God, I pray that you give me strength in my own “holy making process”. Jesus, my heart is Yours and I pray that I want more of You and less of myself. Amen

May you have a blessed week
